Clark Scholars Receive Maclin Grant to Expand Student-Led Community Initiative
Duke Clark Scholars Kaddy Ren and Kashvi Srinivasan have been awarded the Maclin Community Connection Grant at Duke University to expand their student-led initiative, Duke Duke Goose, which fosters creativity and community through campus-wide fiber arts activities.
Duke Clark Scholars Kaddy Ren and Kashvi Srinivasan, first-year undergraduate engineering students, have been awarded the Maclin Community Connection Grant at Duke University.
Ren and Srinivasan are the founding members of Duke Duke Goose, a student-led initiative that fosters creativity and connection across campus through fiber arts. Inspired by similar programs at peer institutions, they have organized interactive scavenger hunts featuring handmade crochet ducks and geese placed throughout Duke’s campus.
With support from the Maclin Community Connection Grant, the team plans to expand the initiative by purchasing additional materials and hosting crochet workshops open to Duke students. These efforts aim to create accessible opportunities for creativity, engagement, and community-building across campus.
